Executive team
Executive Director
Margaret spent 18 years in corporate HR before a career-defining realization during a quarterly business review. She founded Tear A Square Over There in 2019 with a single conviction: the household deserves better.
Director of Research
A former municipal water engineer, Raymond leads the annual State of the Stall report. He holds a PhD in fluid systems and has personally assessed more than 600 facilities, often twice.
Chief Program Officer
Priya oversees Floor Mapping, Schedule Alignment Coaching, and the Remote Relief Fund. Previously she ran operations for a 40-floor office tower and knows where all the good ones are.
Head of Floor Mapping
Tom coordinates our network of 412 volunteer Floor Surveyors. He is credited with discovering the “two floors up” principle and remains humble about it.
Director of Development
Lena leads fundraising and corporate partnerships. She has raised more than $20 million for causes people initially assumed were jokes.
Director of Communications
Devon manages press, brand, and The Weekly Movement newsletter. They are responsible for the phrase “compensated wellness” and will not apologize for it.
Governance
Our volunteer Board provides fiduciary oversight and strategic direction. Board members serve three-year terms and meet quarterly — in person, at a different member's office each time.
Board Chair
Retired Chief People Officer, Fortune 500 logistics firm. Holds the internal record for longest unscheduled one-on-one.
Vice Chair
Professor of Occupational Health. Author of Breaks: A History of the Unscheduled Pause (University Press, 2021).
Treasurer
CPA and nonprofit finance advisor. Calculated the organization's first household savings model on a cocktail napkin.
Secretary
Commercial real estate developer. Has installed full-height stall partitions in every building since 2020.
Director
Labor policy attorney specializing in break-time protections. Reminds the Board at every meeting that this is, technically, legal.
Director
Former regional manager, paper products distribution. Declines to discuss whether this is a conflict of interest.
