Effective November 1, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using tearasquareoverthere.org or the Over There App (together, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services. You are, of course, still welcome to use your workplace restroom.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your PIN confidential and for all activity under your account. Display names must not impersonate another person, include offensive language, or contain your manager's name.
3. Acceptable use
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- log visits on behalf of another person;
- log visits that did not occur, or round up beyond what is reasonable;
- use the leaderboard to harass, shame, or out other advocates;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours; or
- photograph, record, or otherwise document anyone in a restroom. Ever.
4. Workplace conduct
Nothing in the Services is legal or employment advice. You are responsible for following your employer's policies and applicable laws. Tear A Square Over There encourages reasonable, lawful use of workplace facilities only, and we do not advocate taking supplies home. Using the toilet paper where it was installed is the whole point.
5. Impact estimates
Figures shown in the Services — including paid time reclaimed, earnings, water saved, and rolls not purchased — are estimates for illustrative and motivational purposes. They are not financial statements, and your employer is unlikely to accept them as such.
6. Content and intellectual property
The Services, including our name, logo, and the phrase “Over There Method,” belong to Tear A Square Over There. Our press assets may be used for editorial coverage in accordance with our press kit.
7. Donations
Donations are voluntary, non-refundable except where required by law, and used to support our charitable programs. You'll receive a receipt for tax purposes.
8. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is.” We do our best to keep them available, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service — particularly on Monday afternoons, when traffic is heaviest.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tear A Square Over There is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including but not limited to missed meetings, awkward elevator encounters, or motion-sensor lights timing out.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
